Job Title: Bookkeeper for small social enterprise in West Ealing - part time


Cultivate London is an innovative urban farm and social enterprise based in Acton and Brentford, West London. The aims of Cultivate London include generating training opportunities and jobs for unemployed young people in practical horticulture and landscape gardening as well as the conversion of vacant land in West London into productive food growing space.

We are in need of a part time bookkeeper (1 day/week)who has enough experience to ensure that our ledgers are up-to-date and that the bank rec is correct.
Responsibilities include:
• Sales Ledger / Purchase Ledger / Bank Reconciliation / month end journals
• Producing a Trial balance
• Provide reliable monthly figures for management accounts and forecasting
• VAT Returns
• Working with payroll bureau for wages processing
• Liaising with our reporting accountants at year end

Familiarity with / Understanding of Charity / Fund based accounting for reporting purposes is preferable but not mandatory.

We have staff and volunteers who will take care of the bulk of the sales invoicing inputting purchase invoices and banking transactions.

The candidate will need 2 or 3 years experience of using Sage Line 50 and Excel in a small business environment. An interest in horticulture and the desire to help young people into work would be ideal.
