Job Title: Driver / Support Worker - Mobile Chemotherapy Unit

Job ref: 282-C3225-6-B
Salary: £20,521 - £23,405 pa inc pro rata

The Mobile Chemotherapy Unit (MCU) is a new development within The Royal Marsden which is being developed in conjunction with The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and the charity Hope for Tomorrow.

The MCU is a purpose built, four chaired unit which will provide chemotherapy and supportive treatments for patients closer to their home. The aim is to reduce the need for patients to travel to hospital for treatment thereby reducing their travel burden in terms of time and cost.

This vehicle will be mounted on a Mercedes-Benz Atego Chassis. It has its own power supply and all the necessary facilities. It will host nurses, with a high level of clinical expertise and the necessary drugs and kit, who will deliver treatments to numerous patients per day.

This is an opportunity for two enthusiastic, innovative and motivated individuals, who can be flexible to meet the needs of the service. The individuals will be working autonomously but will join a supportive team of nurses and administrators within the Medical Day Units. The post holder will be responsible for the safe delivery and return of the vehicle to set destinations ensuring it is maintained in safe and clean condition along with the day to day supporting of our patients and clinical teams.

We envisage this post to be attractive to members of the community who have a track record in public service and who are keen to contribute to improving the lives of our patients.

Please note that it is an essential requirement for all potential applicants to have a clean LGV Category C (HGV Class 2) license.
